Revealing Two Idols of Sadio Mane in Childhood, Can Anyone Guess? –

German League News: Sadio Mane has now emerged as one of the best players in the world. He had six successful career seasons with Liverpool, and in the summer of 2022 he decided to move to Bayern Munich.

As a player, Mane also had an idol in his childhood. In his narrative, one of his idols is the Brazilian legend and 2005 Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo Assis de Moreira or better known as Ronaldinho. His idol figure has also influenced his current style of play, where he likes to swerve past the guard of opposing players, just like Ronaldinho in his prime.

“My idols at that time were Ronaldinho and El Hadji Diouf from Senegal. They are extraordinary players. I watched their videos for hours and tried to imitate them,” said Sadio Mane.

Regarding El Hadji Diouf, he is a former striker of the Senegal national team with 70 caps and 24 international goals, who has played for several European clubs such as Liverpool, Bolton and Lens.

Meanwhile, Mane, who is basically a humble and simple player, also doesn’t want to be seen as the world’s top star. In fact, in terms of achievement, he surpassed his idol, El Hadji Diouf, after he managed to help the Senegal national team win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in history. He has also won the English Premier League, European Champions League and even the Club World Cup.

“I don’t see myself as a world star at all. I only care about being part of the team. I will do anything for it. I want to push my team-mates to the limit, score goals, provide assists and win games.”
