Red Bull Didn't Think It Could Dominate Competition in F1 2022 –

F1 News : The principal of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, did not expect his team’s dominance in the 2022 F1 season this time. He was shocked when he found out that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez dominated the competition in the top flight.

Different from previous years, Red Bull seems to be more dominant in the 2022 Formula 1 competition. They do get a pretty serious resistance from Ferrari, but not as tight as the duel against Mercedes like last year. Max Verstappen as the mainstay racer also stands firmly at the top of the standings. Verstappen is far ahead with a margin of 64 points from Leclerc who is in second position.

With such great dominance and advantage, Horner clearly did not expect. He was surprised because the regulation changes to 18-inch tires made many teams lose speed.

“Look, if you say that with the biggest regulation changes in 40 years and the fight for the world champion last year. We can have eight wins and two sprint events with a 64 points (riders standings) and 82 points (constructors standings). beyond our wild expectations,” Horner said in an interview with local media.

“I think this is the result of determination, dedication and hard work that we have gone through behind the scenes at the factory. Now we see that Ferrari is also very competitive this year. Other teams like Mercedes are also building momentum. the last team to go through a full development transition (as per the latest F1 regulations) so this is phenomenal work.”
