Transfer News: While Real Madrid and Getafe have reached an agreement over Borja Mayoral’s transfer fee, the striker himself has yet to give his approval.
The deal between the two clubs is reportedly worth 10 million euros, with the former AS Roma striker set to play for Los Azulones for the next five years.
Previously, Celta Vigo were also said to be interested, but Mayoral is said to prefer to stay in Madrida to be close to his family and he has also played for Getafe in the second half of last season.
Nevertheless, MARCA reports that Borja Mayoral has yet to give his approval for a transfer to another capital city club this summer.
Later, his agent had said that Mayoral would prefer to stay at Real Madrid, but coach Carlo Ancelotti has said from the start that the 25-year-old has no role in his team.
At the moment, Mayoral is with the squad that Ancelotti brought to the United States for the pre-season tour, and he seems to be still trying to convince the Italian coach to keep him.
Mayoral never even played in the first two test matches that Los Blancos went through in Uncle Sam’s country, namely against Barcelona and Club America.
Madrid have only one game left in the United States, against Juventus which will be played on Sunday (31/7), and they will be expecting a definitive answer from him once the tour is over.
