German League News: Bayern Munich only drew 2-2 against VfB Stuttgart in the sixth week of the 2022/23 Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena, Saturday (10/09) night WIB. In that match Bayern almost lost, if Sehrou Guirassy’s goal was not disallowed by the referee.
In that match, Sehrou Guirassy managed to score a goal through a flick in the penalty box in the 52nd minute. However, the 26-year-old’s goal was later canceled out by VAR after Chris Fuehrich was charged with a foul by tugging at Joshua Kimmich’s shirt before providing Guirassy with a pass.
Regarding that, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic seemed quite disappointed with Joshua Kimmich’s attitude, as he easily stopped and didn’t continue the match when he got a slight tug from Chris Fuehrich inside the penalty box. In fact, at that time he actually still had the opportunity to run after the ball and prevent goals from happening.
“He felt Sehrou Guirassy being tugged at his shirt, so he stopped playing. I will whistle because it’s our player. But what Joshua Kimmich did there was very dangerous, because he was in his own penalty box. He won’t do it again,” said Salihamidzic during an appearance on Sport1’s Dopplepass.
If the VAR referee had not called, Guirassy’s goal could have been confirmed because Fuehrich’s pull on Kimmich was minimal. Meanwhile, with this draw Bayern managed to occupy the third position in the Bundesliga standings with a collection of 12 points.
