German League News: Mario Gotze is one of the lucky enough players, because he was coached by two of the world’s best coaches at once, namely Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola. However, who is better between the two?
Mario Gotze began to steal the attention while playing under Jurgen Klopp in 2009. He was also one of the key players behind the success of Die Borussian winning two consecutive Bundesliga titles, in 2010/11 and 2011/12 respectively.
After impressing with Dortmund, Gotze, who came out as a hero for the German national team at the 2014 World Cup, joined Bayern Munich under Pep Guardiola’s coaching, starting in the summer of 2013 to be exact. At the Bavarian club he made 114 appearances, winning three successive league titles and three domestic cups.
“Every coach has his own strengths and philosophy, but from my point of view Jurgen Klopp is doing his best in the field of management, team, staff, the whole club leads the best,” Gotze told BILD.
Gotze, who is considered to have failed to develop with Bayern, finally returned to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016 under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel. However, his actions on the gridiron were no longer as impressive as his first spell with Die Borussian, so he then had to be willing to move to PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2020 to return to his best playing potential.
In the summer of this year Mario Gotze returned to Germany, but by strengthening Eintracht Frankfurt.
