degster Officially Joins OG Esports CS:GO Team –

Esports News: Abdul “degster” Gassanov officially signed a contract with the CS:GO team OG Esports on Friday (15/7). This comes less than a month after the AWPer became their stand-in at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, where he was one of the best players in the $425,000 CS:GO tournament.

The transfer deal for the Russian AWPer was originally announced by Team Spirit, the team he played with from March 2021 to June 2022 and notably helped reach the semifinals of the PGL Antwerp Major in May 2022. “The organization has resolved all legal and organizational issues, and officially formalized the transfer, ” said Spirit quoted from Dot Esports.

OG Esports head coach, Casper “Ruggah” Due, described Degster as a “world class player” who can help level the team up. The 20-year-old is one of the most sought-after assets in free agency, as he is an aggressive AWPer who more than often makes entries for his team.

Quoting Dot Esports, degster will replace Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski the last member of the founding member of OG’s CS:GO team, effective immediately. Mantuu has been strengthening OG since 2019 and will now be backed up pending offers from other organizations.

While the mantuu’s performance at OG Esports wasn’t bad, degster provided a significant firepower boost during the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, a competition the Polish AWPer missed due to illness. Mantuu returned post that tournament, but OG didn’t hit the same level they did in one event with degster.

“We have always had the highest ambitions for CS:GO and are confident that the addition of a player of this caliber, a semi-finalist at the last Major, will help us establish ourselves as a contender for an upcoming major event,” OG said in an official statement, quoted by Dot Esports. “The squad’s first game at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Lisbon has us all on the edge of our seats. We caught a glimpse of the potential with a win over two of the best teams in the world, and an unprecedented entry on one of the most beautiful stages on the planet. “

OG will resume training once their summer break ends in August 2022. The team will head to training camp and begin preparations for their most important goal, qualifying for the IEM Rio Major, the second Valve-sponsored event this year.
