MotoGP News : Davide Brivio has finally commented on Suzuki’s departure at the end of the 2022 season. He admitted that he was sad because Suzuki was a team that had made its name in professional racing.
As is known, Davide Brivio had previously handled Suzuki as a member of the core management. After helping Joan Mir to the world title in 2020, Brivio surprisingly left and tried his luck in F1 competition. He then joined Alpine to help the performance of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.
Talking about Suzuki’s sudden departure, Brivio clearly feels sad. He regretted the departure of a team as big as Suzuki from a famous racing event. In the future, he hopes that there will be a replacement team that can give a big surprise.
“It’s a shame for Suzuki, a very difficult moment. I’m sad to hear this decision. I hope Suzuki doesn’t step down. MotoGP,” said Brivio when interviewed by local media.
Seeing the reason for Suzuki’s withdrawal, Brivio also understood their considerations. With the financial flows stuck, it is very difficult to survive and develop a motorcycle in the premier class competition.
“In MotoGP, although there are also advantages and disadvantages, the dynamics of the business orientation are not great. In F1, someone or a consortium may buy a team that suffers the fate of Suzuki,” he added.
