Football News: PSV Eindhoven striker Cody Gakpo admits that he knows that he is currently being watched by Manchester United. The Dutchman said that he would leave the decision on his future to PSV management.
Manchester United has just confirmed the success of bringing Antony from Ajax Amsterdam with a transfer value of 85 million Pounds Sterling.
However, Antony’s presence at Old Trafford did not stop Manchester United from pursuing the signature of Cody Gakpo, who was reportedly valued by PSV Eindhoven for £35 million.
Gakpo was then asked to comment on Antony’s arrival at Old Trafford.
When asked by the journalist crew whether Antony’s transfer prevented his move to MU, Gakpo admitted that he did not want to bother with this.
“Of course this is good news for him (Antony). But it doesn’t affect me at all,” Gakpo told ESPN.
Gakpo then said that he had heard of MU’s interest in him.
But should he fail to move to Old Trafford this summer, Gakpo will still be happy to honor his contract with PSV Eindhoven which expires in June 2026.
“United is clearly a serious option. I heard it all (about the rumors of a move) and it’s hard for me not to know,” continued the 23-year-old striker.
“I can’t say anything about my future at the moment.”
“For me it’s not a punishment if I finally stay at PSV. I will find out about it all in a few days,” concluded Gakpo.
