Brad Binder looks to the second half of the season with confidence –

MotoGP News: Red Bull KTM rider, Brad Binder, believes his performance will improve and appear stronger in the second half of the season, reflecting on the experience of previous years.

Brad Binder became KTM’s representative with the best performance in the first half of the 2022 MotoGP. He was ranked sixth in the drivers’ standings after participating in 11 races. But the man from South Africa has only been on the podium once, to be precise at the Qatar MotoGP.

In the other 10 series, the driver struggled to appear consistent, even breaking into the top five only once. KTM who never found the right suit for the RC16 iron horse was the main factor causing Binder and other KTM riders to sluggish.

But the 26-year-old believes his team have worked hard over the summer break to put everything together to improve the performance of the bike.

“I hope we take a step forward. I hope we will come back, able to fight at the top in the second half of the year,” said Binder quoted from Speedweek.

“In my career I was always very fast in the second half of the season. I don’t know if it’s an early trace,” he added.

“Or do I just need a moment to get there. I don’t know, but I’m sure we’ll have a much better end to the season.”

In order to be consistently in the top five or regularly fight for the podium, Brad Binder emphasized that there must be an increase in technology from the team and the development of a driver’s ability.

“I’m sure it can continue to grow. I also believe that I still have a lot to learn in MotoGP. But what is special is that the competition in MotoGP is very close,” said Miguel Oliveira’s teammate.

“I think I can do better if the bike takes a step forward, works better on the new tires and aligns with the full tank to get maximum performance.”

“It’s a combination of the two, the bike and me. We have to be stronger, if we can do that then we will be better.”

Binder also emphasized that KTM still has many shortcomings that need to be corrected if it wants to keep up with other manufacturers in MotoGP.

“So if I can go 2.5 seconds faster, and the bike is also 2.5 seconds faster, then it will make a big difference,” said Binder.

“I have to realize what I can do or where I can improve to reach the next step. But the competition is that close in MotoGP, but it’s not as easy as you think.”
