Esports News: Atlanta FaZe and Seattle Surge will meet in the Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 3 winner bracket final after winning in their second round match, on Saturday (4/6).
FaZe brought the Los Angeles Thieves to their knees via a 3-0 score, while Surge beat the Florida Mutineers 3-1.
Atlanta FaZe was too tough for Thieves, claiming Gavutu Hardpoint 250-138 and closing with a pair of shutouts, 6-0 at Bocage Search and Destroy and 3-0 at Gavutu Control.
The Seattle Surge was a little tougher against the Mutineers, losing the opening map at Tuscan Hardpoint 250-188. Surge then responded by winning 6-4 at Berlin Search and Destroy, 3-2 at Tuscan Control, sealing victory by taking the Berlin Hardpoint 250-194.
Los Angeles Thieves and Florida Mutineers also dropped to the loser bracket, where they achieved different results. The Thieves beat OpTic Texas via a 3-1 scoreline to stay in the tournament, while the Mutineers were one of only two teams besides Minnesota RØKKR to be beaten by the Toronto Ultra, on Saturday (4/6).
Quoting Sportsnaut, Ultra had a tight duel with RØKKR to open the day’s loser bracket action. Cammy cs won at Bocage Hardpoint 217-212, Tuscan Search and Destroy 6-4, and Berlin Hardpoint 3-2.
The Toronto Ultra then swept the Florida Mutineers with wins 250-214 at Bocage Hardpoint, 6-3 at Berlin Search and Destroy, and 3-1 at Tuscan Control.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Thieves came back from defeat to FaZe, despite falling behind when OpTic won Gavutu Hardpoint 250-190. Thieves equalized with a 6-5 win at Berlin Search and Destroy, then sealed the win after taking Berlin Control 3-0 and Berlin Hardpoint 250-175.
The winner of the Atlanta FaZe vs Seattle Surge will head to the best-of-nine (BO9) grand final on Sunday (5/6). The losing team will go down to the final loser bracket to compete for the remaining grand final tickets against the winner of Ultra vs Thieves.
